3 individuals, including a Moroccan residing in France, were sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison with a joint fine of 50,000 dirhams to be paid to the victim.
Prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, aggravated theft, kidnapping, violence and threats, the 2 individuals were each sentenced to 7 years in prison, while the 32-year-old MRE was sentenced to 5 years.
According to the daily Assabah, the victim, a physics teacher, was attacked in the suburbs of Tangier, after being invited there by her student. The 3 accomplices were helped by her to carry out their criminal act, by seizing her car and money.
Arriving at the level of a supermarket in the city, the 3 suspects were forced to abandon the car due to a mechanical breakdown. However, their suspicious behavior did not escape a police brigade, which managed to arrest them after an initial attempt to flee.
At the police station, the MRE confessed to being married and having been expelled from France for committing similar criminal acts. She was planning to use the car to commit thefts in other cities, she told the police.
