Moroccan Imam Jailed for Adultery and Sexual Misconduct in Beni Mellal

The court of first instance in Beni Mellal sentenced the religious leader to two months in prison with a fine of 10,000 dirhams. His mistress, for her part, received a 4-month suspended sentence, reports Alyaoum24.

Arrested last October in the act of adultery, the defendants, both married, had been brought before the courts. The case had caused a shock among the inhabitants of the city.

Numerous obscene messages and videos exchanged on the WhatsApp application with his mistress were found on the imam’s phone.
