Moroccan Court Sentences Key Figure in Judicial Bribery Scandal to 5 Years

The main defendant in the case of the alleged "intermediary" of judges was sentenced on Tuesday to five years in prison by the Court of First Instance of Casablanca.
At the end of the investigation conducted by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the accused were arrested and sentenced.
In addition to the main defendant, two other accomplices, including a police officer and a police officer, were sentenced to 4 months in prison.
This case broke out following a video that went viral on social media. It showed an individual in the middle of negotiating a reduced sentence for a defendant, in exchange for a bribe of several thousand dirhams.
At the hearing, the defendant had claimed that the negotiation did not concern the judge but rather the lawyer.
