Moroccan Man Fatally Shot on Spanish Beach Amid Suspected Migrant Trafficking Dispute

A young Moroccan was killed by a bullet to the head on the night of August 23 to 24, on the beach of Balerma in El Ejido, in southern Spain. The reasons are currently obscure.
The circumstances surrounding this tragedy, which occurred in the Berenjenales area, seem to point to a dispute related to illegal immigrant trafficking. The quarrel would have broken out following the "disappearance" of navigation devices, of which the victim would have been held responsible.
The Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil evokes a possible link with the mafias engaged in irregular immigration, but connections with drug trafficking have not been ruled out, according to Europa Press.
A man of Spanish nationality was placed in pre-trial detention by the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of El Ejido. During his testimony, he claimed to have used a hunting rifle and to have fired at "close range" during an altercation. A second individual, also suspected, was granted provisional release.
According to La Voz de Almería, the main suspect turned himself in to the Guardia Civil of El Ejido.
