Moroccan Man Arrested for Triple Homicide in Oujda Family Attack
A 42-year-old man was arrested on Sunday by elements of the prefectural police service in Oujda. He would be involved in a case of voluntary homicide and attempted voluntary homicide against four women of the same family.
The suspect would have accessed the home of his neighbors, killing with a bladed weapon three women aged 76, 45 and 19, and injuring a fourth person. The reasons justifying this violence are not known and are the subject of an investigation by the police, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
During his arrest, the individual who had barricaded himself in the victims’ home strongly resisted the police. The accused was in an impulsive state. The police officers were therefore forced, according to the DGSN, to use their service weapon to neutralize him.
The three bodies were transferred to the morgue for autopsy, while the fourth victim was admitted to the hospital. As for the suspect, he was taken to the hospital and then placed under medical supervision. He will be subjected to an investigation that will be supervised by the competent prosecutor’s office in order to determine the motives and circumstances of these criminal acts, informs the same source.
