Moroccan Man Arrested at Tanger-Med Port with 270 kg of Hidden Cannabis

A 51-year-old Moroccan national was about to smuggle a large quantity of cannabis, on board a car registered in Germany. He was intercepted by the police services at the Port of Tanger-Med.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the cargo was meticulously hidden in small plastic boxes containing consumer products. The services managed to seize this significant quantity of cannabis as part of an inspection operation.
The man was about to make the crossing, on board a boat bound for a French port. He was taken into custody, pending the investigation conducted by the security services, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The continuation of the case could determine the origin of the seized goods and identify other individuals involved in drug trafficking.
A special device has been set up to accompany the "Marhaba 2019" operation, aimed at simplifying the arrival of Moroccans residing abroad but also at strengthening security systems.
