Moroccan Police Seize 840 kg of Cannabis Hidden in Export Pottery at Tanger-Med Port

Elements of the National Security of the Port of Tanger-Med proceeded, on Monday, August 5, 2019, to the arrest of a Moroccan driver. He is accused of attempting to traffic 840 kilograms of cannabis resin, on board a utility vehicle registered in Morocco, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Drug traffickers are becoming more and more ingenious to slip through the security net. This suspect, aged 50, despite his cunning, was arrested while trying to bring drugs from Morocco into Spanish territory.
The searches carried out on board his vehicle made it possible to confiscate the large quantity of cannabis resin indicated, carefully hidden in pottery utensils and containers, intended for export.
Pending the continuation of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, the suspect was taken into custody.
