Moroccan Police Seize 27 Tons of Cannabis in Major Port Bust

This is undoubtedly one of the largest drug seizures in recent years. This Sunday, July 7, 2019, evening, the police services seized just over 27 tons of cannabis resin (chira).
The shipment was inside three trucks dedicated to international transport and registered in Morocco, announces the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release, specifying that the vehicles were supposed to transport industrial equipment to Europe.
The three drivers, all of Moroccan nationality, were arrested and taken into custody as part of the investigation conducted by the Prefectural Judicial Police Service, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
The investigations will also make it possible "to identify any ramifications of this criminal activity at the national and international levels," it is further specified in the DGSN press release.
