According to the investigators, "Mounir and Abdelkader went to Abdelaziz’s place to demand a debt. A bloody brawl followed and alarmed the neighbors who alerted the police." Once on the scene, four local police officers saw the alleged murderer, Abdelaziz, continue to threaten Mounir, already seriously injured in the neck, with a knife. They managed to subdue him and tried to provide first aid to the injured man to stop the bleeding, pending the arrival of the emergency services.
