Spanish Authorities Bust Major Hashish Trafficking Ring, Seize 3,000 Kilos

The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled in Murcia an international network specialized in the trafficking of Moroccan hashish and migrant trafficking. In total, nearly 3,000 kilos of the drug were seized and four people were arrested.
The boat intercepted by the Civil Guard in the Murcia region, on the coast of Cartagena, was carrying 2,240 kilos of Moroccan hashish. The eight crew members abandoned the boat and fled. Four of them were arrested and will be prosecuted for drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization, reports La Opinion de Murcia.

The intercepted boats were placed under judicial deposit, until the judicial authority decides to transfer them to various organizations such as the Navy or even to private individuals who request them.
The traffickers transport their goods on fishing boats and sailboats so as not to arouse suspicion. Last June, the national police and the Civil Guard had already dismantled a criminal organization that was trying to introduce 12 tons of Moroccan hashish into the Mediterranean.
