Moroccan Judoka Asmaa Niang Clinches Fifth African Championship Title

Moroccan judoka Asmaa Niang adds to her record the fifth African judo champion title. This was last Friday, during the African championship of the discipline, which was held in Antananarivo.
Asmaa Niang continues to surprise every time she steps onto the tatami. The Moroccan, who is proudly part of the world’s top 14 high-level athletes, won her fight against the Cameroonian champion in the final of the -70kg category. Technically and physically, the Moroccan was more skillful than her opponent, whom she sent to the mat after a very hard-fought fight.
The first day of this competition taking place on Malagasy soil was fruitful for the Moroccan athletes who won several medals. Sofia Belattar won the silver medal in the -63kg category, Ahmed Meziani the silver medal in the -73kg category and Achraf Moutti the bronze medal in the -81kg category.
