Moroccan Imam Arrested for Running Brothel in Official Residence

A mosque imam, in the town of Sidi Kaouki, was brought before the Court of Appeal in Safi by the Royal Gendarmerie of Essaouira, for exploiting his official residence as a place of prostitution and debauchery.
His arrest was almost by chance. The religious leader had been questioned by the gendarmes about people being sought who might be near the mosque. Intrigued by his behavior, they then conducted a search of his official residence.
Inside, the agents found bottles of alcohol and shisha. It turned out, after questioning, that the official residence had been transformed into a place of debauchery for nearly 4 years. The imam was in the habit of organizing hot nights there.
The Royal Gendarmerie subsequently summoned the imam’s companion as well as one of his friends, who were also involved in this case.
Furthermore, by checking the accused’s phone, the gendarmes discovered photos and videos that he was posting on his Facebook page under a false profile.
