Moroccan Film Star Faces Legal Troubles Over Alleged Affair

The case of Moroccan film star Najat El Wafi and her alleged lover, Saïd Khalaf, has taken a new turn that is likely to keep the two suspects entangled in the courts for a long time.
Following the discovery of messages deemed compromising on the mobile phones of the two artists, the King’s Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal has decided to prosecute them for incitement to debauchery.
According to the Goud website, the new charge, which has left the lawyers in consternation, does not really conform to the subject of the complaint filed by the actress’s husband, which concerns adultery.
Incitement to debauchery requires the presence of a third party in the trial, the lawyers of the defendants point out, questioning the motives behind this confusion created by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Last July, Najat El Wafi and the director, Said Khalaf, were caught alone in an apartment in the Gauthier neighborhood of Casablanca. Questioned by the Judicial Police of Anfa, the actress was prosecuted for adultery, following a complaint filed by her husband who lives in the United States.
