Moroccan Actress Najat El Ouafi’s Adultery Trial Resumes, Charges Partially Dropped

The break will have been short-lived for the Moroccan actress, Najat El Ouafi, who was forced to interrupt her vacation in Canada to appear again before the court of first instance in Casablanca.
Following a brief appearance before the investigating judge last Monday, December 6, accompanied by director Said Khalaf, the trial pitting Najat El Ouafi against the latter has been postponed to January 27, reports Al jarida.
During their appearance, the Attorney General had decided to drop, in the absence of tangible evidence, the charge of extramarital relations brought by the actress’s husband, in accordance with Article 493 of the Moroccan Penal Code.
In return, the two lovers have been prosecuted for incitement to debauchery, according to Article 502 of the Penal Code. To recall, Najat El Ouafi’s American spouse had accused his wife of adultery with the Moroccan filmmaker, Said Khalaf.
