Moroccan Actress Najat El Ouafi Faces Trial for "Incitement to Debauchery"

The trial of the famous actress, Najat El Ouafi, accused of adultery and her alleged lover will open on October 28, 2019, with the charge of incitement to debauchery. This is the decision of the Casablanca Prosecutor’s Office.
Najat El Ouafi’s dealings with the justice system are not over. Acquitted of the charge of adultery, she is now being prosecuted for "incitement to debauchery" by the Casablanca Prosecutor’s Office, according to her lawyer.
The origin of this case is a complaint filed by the actress’s husband for adultery, three months ago. What followed? The police had arrested Najat El Ouafi and director Said Khallaf who were staying in an apartment in Casablanca.
The two suspects had stated that their meeting was in a purely professional context. At the end of a three-month trial, the Prosecutor’s Office acquitted the actress on the grounds that it was not a case of adultery.
As the file was not literally emptied, the Casablanca Prosecutor’s Office decided to prosecute Najat El Ouafi for incitement to debauchery, which her husband also accuses her of.
In the wake of this, the actress in turn filed a complaint against her husband for defamation. The trial is scheduled for October 28, 2019.
