Moroccan Evacuees from Wuhan Show No Signs of Coronavirus, Health Officials Report

No coronavirus contamination has been detected among the Moroccan nationals repatriated a few days ago from Wuhan, China. The head of the communicable disease control division at the Ministry of Health confirmed this on Monday in Rabat.
The 167 Moroccans, under medical observation, under the supervision of a national commission composed of several ministries, military medical services and other organizations, are in good health.
According to Abdelkrim Meziane Belfkih, from the communicable disease control division, this commission will, in a few days, make a decision concerning the lifting of the medical observation, so that these citizens can reunite with their respective families.
He then explained that, although they are all declared healthy, the medical observation has "a preventive scope and aims to eliminate any possible risk of contamination that could manifest itself".
Meziane Belfkih also stated that measures have been taken at all of Morocco’s border crossing points, in order to report to the National Center for Public Health Emergency Operations (CNOUSP) any individual who presents symptoms that may warrant a virological examination.
The situation is under control in Morocco for the moment, and the official believes that it is necessary to establish a relationship of trust between the health services and the population.
He also invited Moroccans to take, with great caution, the information circulating on the coronavirus that does not come from any official source.
