Moroccan Evacuees from Wuhan Reunite with Families After Quarantine

After a period of medical supervision, the Moroccans repatriated from Wuhan were allowed to leave the Mohammed V military hospital in Rabat on Saturday, February 22. In the presence of their families, they shared a moment of joy and, above all, expressed their words of gratitude to King Mohammed VI and thanks to the medical staff.

"It is with immense joy that we are reunited with our children today," said the mother of a Moroccan student from Wuhan. She was keen to congratulate the mobilization of the medical staff of the Mohammed V military hospital in Rabat who went beyond expectations. This woman is also happy to note that certificates attesting to the good health of the repatriated Moroccans have been issued, both at the Mohammed V military hospital in Rabat and at the Sidi Said hospital in Meknes.

A delighted father thanked King Mohammed VI, whose intervention was lifesaving. He also thanked the high-level medical team mobilized to ensure the comfort of the Moroccans and the success of this operation during the observation period. "Morocco is one of the first countries to have repatriated its citizens," said a young Moroccan living in Wuhan. For her, it was a "unique" and "historic" experience.

It was on Saturday that the Ministry of Health announced the end of the medical supervision period for Moroccan citizens repatriated from Wuhan, the epicenter of the COVID-19 epidemic, welcomed at the Sidi Said hospital in Meknes and the Mohammed V military hospital in Rabat for 20 days. The ministry reassured that no cases related to the new coronavirus have been recorded among these citizens.
