Morocco Repatriates 100 Nationals from Coronavirus Epicenter in Wuhan, China

The repatriation of the 100 Moroccan nationals, including students, blocked in the city of Wuhan, China due to the coronavirus epidemic, was effective this Sunday, February 2, 2020. The plane landed at Bensalimane airport near Casablanca.
It was the Dreamliner (Boeing 787) aircraft that operated this special repatriation flight of Moroccans stranded in the city of Wuhan, China. The latter will be isolated for about twenty days at the reception sites.
On the instructions of King Mohammed VI, the repatriation operation of Moroccans residing in Wuhan "is carried out as planned and in perfect coordination between all the departments concerned," the Ministry of Health said in a statement on the eve.
A medical team, made up of civilian and military doctors and nurses, will accompany them, from Wuhan to the reception sites at the Sidi Saïd Hospital in Meknes and the Mohammed V Military Hospital in Rabat.
The Ministry of Health intends to preserve the health safety of the repatriates and their families, in order to ensure them maximum comfort during the observation period. In this sense, the sites intended to welcome them have been meticulously arranged and equipped with all the necessary medical devices.
The Ministry of Health also reaffirmed that no case of illness due to the new virus has been recorded in Morocco to date. It also reassured citizens that it will continue to inform them regularly, both on the medical follow-up of the repatriated persons and on the development of the situation regarding this global alert.
