Moroccan Evacuation Flight from Wuhan Diverted to Benslimane for Coronavirus Screening

Initially scheduled to land at the Fès-Saiss airport, the landing of the plane carrying Moroccans residing in Wuhan finally took place, on Sunday, February 2, at the Benslimane airport.
This change of course comes following the instructions given by the Ministry of Health, aimed at ensuring the health status of the passengers and thoroughly disinfecting the aircraft, which remained 10 hours in a row at the Wuhan airport.
Besieged by the health authorities, the plane and the covered area will be subject to disinfection and sterilization operations, to avoid the risk of spreading the Coronavirus in the atmosphere.
A team of civilian and military doctors and nurses has been set up by the supervisory ministry to accompany the Moroccan passengers, from their arrival at the airport to their transfer to the hospitals in Meknès and Rabat.
Subsequently, the travelers will be quarantined for a period of 20 days, at the disposal of the medical team that will closely monitor the development of their health status. All arrangements have been made for the observation period, the ministry’s press release said, in order to ensure the comfort of the passengers and their families.
