Moroccan Drug Lord Implicates 50 Gendarmes in 423-Ton European Trafficking Operation

The drug trafficker involved in an international drug trafficking case being tried by the Rabat court has made confidences about his modus operandi. He had denounced about fifty gendarmes with whom he had collaborated to introduce more than 423 tons of drugs to Europe.
Two months ago, the drug trafficker had named about fifty gendarmes as accomplices. The one who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison in another trafficking case in 2016 has revealed secrets about the flow of more than 423 tons to all of Europe, between 2009 and 2016.
According to the confessions of the main accused, the drug shipments, hidden in trucks carrying fish and tomatoes, had their starting point in several Moroccan cities, including Dakhla, Agadir and Casablanca, to the north of the country and their destination was Spain, reports the newspaper Al Akhbar. Ahead of the departure of the trucks, meetings had been organized between Moroccan and European drug traffickers, the owners of the transport companies and a colonel of the gendarmerie, whose task was to secure the route of the vehicles.
In addition, two other traffickers serving sentences ranging from 6 to 12 years in prison have confided that the drug baron had blackmailed them before the trial to prevent the disclosure of information that could lead to the reopening of their cases. He demanded an amount of 3.3 million dirhams and 1.2 million for his silence.
For their part, the gendarmes and the other traffickers involved in this international drug trafficking case have flatly rejected the accusations against them. They rather favor the hypothesis of revenge.
