Drug Baron Arrested After Failed Bribery Attempt in Moroccan Cannabis Case

Involved in a drug trafficking case of three and a half tons of cannabis resin (chira) seized on the beach of Kénitra, a drug trafficker failed in his attempt to bribe the investigating judge at the Kénitra Court of Appeal. Offended, the magistrate ordered his detention.
The charges against this drug baron are piling up. In addition to the charges against him in the ongoing international drug trafficking case, he is also being prosecuted for attempted corruption of a sworn officer, reports Assabah.
The main accused in a drug trafficking case of three and a half tons of chira seized on the beach of Kénitra, he took out a checkbook and offered the magistrate a check in an amount between one and ten million dirhams. This proposal provoked the anger of the investigating judge in charge of his case, who ordered his detention.
