Moroccan Consulate Condemns German Authorities for Unauthorized Cremation of Disabled Immigrant

The Moroccan Consulate General in Frankfurt reacted to the cremation of the body of the Moroccan Amar Kichouh, condemning the approach of the German authorities which "contravenes the rules of use in such a case".
The Moroccan Consulate General has specified that the German authorities sent the body of the deceased to a cremation center without, however, first informing the family of this Moroccan who lived alone in special social housing for people with disabilities in Frankfurt. The information only reached the family of Amar Kichouh a few days after the cremation of the body, it is further specified.
The Moroccan representation condemns "this approach of the competent German authorities" which "contravenes the rules of use in such a case". It is a "precedent", a "flagrant violation of established procedures" and "a violation of the dignity of the deceased," it said. Not content with this approach, the Moroccan Consulate General in Frankfurt says it has seized the German authority concerned, "which bears full responsibility in this matter", to inquire about the circumstances and reasons that led to the implementation of this process.
So far, no explanation has been provided to it. It is nevertheless determined to follow up on this case, in order to ensure that the dignity of all Moroccan citizens in their country of residence is respected.
