Moroccan Coastal Town Belyounech to Receive $3.6 Million Infrastructure Upgrade

The residents of the commune of Belyounech, under the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, can rejoice. Indeed, the locality will be enriched in the coming months, with a promenade and socioeconomic centers, the fruit of a supplementary agreement to the rehabilitation program.

With a total amount of 36 MDH, the construction of these infrastructures is part of the implementation of the Belyounech rehabilitation program. Which aims, according to La Map, to strengthen the infrastructure, to promote the access of the inhabitants of the commune to basic services, to support the development of the production sectors and to improve the attractiveness of the commune as well as the quality of life of the population by integrating them into the socioeconomic environment, while promoting private sector investments.

According to the budgetary provisions of this supplementary agreement, an envelope of 17 MDH is intended for the upgrading of the Belyounech promenade, the rehabilitation of roads, the construction of spaces dedicated to sports and entertainment, and a parking lot, not to mention the development of green spaces and playgrounds for children, specifies the same source.

The same program also provides for the strengthening of local social buildings. Here in particular, it is planned to build and equip a youth reception center including music rooms and a theater, with a budget of 6 MDH, as well as a center for women including training rooms, with a budget of 2.5 MDH, indicates the Map. To all this are added the construction of the artisan’s house, at 8 MDH, and a production unit aimed at enhancing seafood products and drying fish, at 3 MDH.

It should be noted that several structures contribute to the effectiveness of this supplementary agreement to the rehabilitation program. These include, among others, the Prefecture Council for 26.1 MDH, the Agency for the Development of the Northern Provinces (2.5 MDH), the National Initiative for Human Development (3 MDH), the Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy (4 MDH) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (1 MDH).

Once these works are completed, the commune of Belyounech will assert itself even more as one of the most popular tourist destinations in northern Morocco, adds the same source.
