The ochre city, Marrakech, claims the 56th position, closely followed by Fès, which ranks 60th. This ranking was highlighted by the New York Post, which relayed the in-depth study conducted by the guided tour platform GuruWalk.

To establish this rigorous hierarchy, researchers meticulously analyzed 467,000 verified reviews left by travelers who participated in 3,600 tours across more than 800 cities. The methodology is based on two major criteria evaluated between April 2025 and April 2026: visitor traffic volume, which accounts for 65% of the overall score, and visitor satisfaction rate, making up the remaining 35%.

While Moroccan cities shine brilliantly in this global ranking, the top of the podium remains dominated by the European continent. Rome takes first place, with the study’s authors noting that in the Italian capital, "every step transports you through empires, popes, and renaissances." It surpasses Madrid, described as an "open-air museum," and Budapest, underscoring the demands of this ranking where Marrakech and Fès have managed to establish themselves.
