The 4th edition of the author’s cooking competition was organized last Tuesday in Seville, Spain, by the "Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation". At the Hassan II pavilion, the participation of five Moroccan chefs in this great gastronomic meeting could be noted.
Bringing the Moroccan and Spanish societies closer together through the culinary art. This is the objective of this gastronomic competition held last Tuesday in Seville, Spain. In total, about twenty Spanish chefs and five Moroccan chefs took part in this competition where Morocco was welcomed as the guest country.
At this culinary event, which required a jury composed of "veteran chefs and food critics", José Manuel Cervera, director of the "Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation", stressed in his speech that "gastronomy is a vector of rapprochement and understanding between peoples and a link between societies and individuals".
For his part, the Consul General of Morocco in Seville, Farid Aoulouhaj, seized this opportunity to invite the participants in this culinary competition to discover Morocco through this gastronomic facet, emphasizing the richness of Moroccan gastronomy, like its Andalusian neighbor. An observation that will be reinforced by the chef Ali El Kardoudi, co-organizer of the event, according to whom, this competition "is an opportunity to introduce the Spanish chefs to the similarities between Moroccan and Andalusian cuisine in particular".
It should be noted that the Moroccan chefs have reason to be satisfied. Indeed, the pastry chef Tarik Taoufiki, who was taking part in the competition for the first time, won the "Special Prize for the Best Moroccan Chef".
