The Moroccan new car market is soaring

The new car market in Morocco is showing a notable increase at the end of October, according to the latest data from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).

October was positive for the Moroccan new car market, recording a 14.94% increase for the passenger car segment, with 12,972 units sold, compared to 11,286 units sold a year earlier. This increase is explained by an increase in demand and an increasingly varied and attractive supply. The light commercial vehicle segment, for its part, recorded a record increase of 33.71%, with 2,031 units sold, compared to 1,519 units sold in October 2023. This increase is justified by the growth of the logistics and services sectors.

In total, sales reached 15,003 units, an increase of 17.17% compared to October 2023 when 12,805 units were sold. This increase shows the vitality and attractiveness of the Moroccan automotive market, supported by the arrival of new brands and new models. This upward trend observed in October has been observed since the beginning of the year. This is evidenced by the sales figures which reached 137,953 units from January to October, compared to 130,214 units, representing an increase of 5.94% compared to the same period in 2023.

In the passenger car (PC) segment, Dacia is the sales leader, with 31,365 units sold at the end of October, an increase of 25.54% compared to 2023. It is followed by Renault with 18,613 units sold (15.15%) and Hyundai with 10,034 units (8.17%). Renault remains the leader in the light commercial vehicle segment with 3,611 units sold, or 23.86% market share, ahead of Ford (2,022 units and 13.36%) and Toyota (1,636 units and 10.81%).

Regarding the premium segment, Audi dominates the market with 3,767 vehicles sold (3.07%), followed by BMW (3,589 units and 2.92%) and Mercedes-Benz (2,439 units and 1.99%).
