Moroccan Butcher Arrested After Beheading Wife Near Safi

The incident is said to have occurred last Wednesday according to the newspaper Aujourd’hui le Maroc, which specifies in a rather indelicate manner: "In Jamaat Shaïm, located about fifty kilometers from the city of Safi, a young man put an end to the life of his wife, on Wednesday morning, by slitting her throat like a sheep."

After slitting her throat, the butcher is said to have cut off her head. He then voluntarily presented himself to the gendarmes to be arrested.

The newspaper reveals some details that may be important: "a few weeks ago, this wife, a pharmacist by profession, had saved him from death when she intervened to prevent him from committing suicide."

The same media explains that the individual in question had mental disorders "since he lost his business due to debts."
