Moroccan Man Arrested for Wife’s Murder After Polygamy Dispute

Drama in Talliouine, in the Agadir region, where a woman was found in a pool of blood. The police suspect her husband, who has just been arrested and placed in custody.
The details are reported by the newspaper Assabah this Monday, April 1st. According to the newspaper, the husband would have killed his wife because she refused to give her authorization for him to take a second wife.
Last Friday, while he was supposed to be absent from the family home, he broke into his home, opened the bedroom door before murdering his wife. It was the couple’s 19-year-old child who heard the sound of the door and rushed to the bedroom to find his mother lifeless.
This woman had nevertheless filed a complaint with the police a few months ago for domestic violence and it took the intervention of the family for her to withdraw the complaint and a reconciliation to take place.
After failing to convince his first wife to give him her consent for a second wife, as required by law in Morocco, he decided to kill her. He will be caught a little later by the police and brought before the prosecutor at the Agadir Court of Appeal.
