Drug Dealer’s Arrest Sparks Neighborhood Resistance in Moroccan City

An arrest was about to go wrong in Safi, in a neighborhood in the south of the city, where many residents of the neighborhood wanted to prevent the arrested person from being taken to the police station.
From start to finish, this arrest was difficult. Indeed, according to Assabah, police officers went to Hay Kaouki, in the south of Safi, to arrest a dealer (who was selling to other dealers) who was the subject of an arrest warrant. But he put up fierce resistance.
The individual brandished a saber against the police officers and had two fierce dogs at his disposal. But he was surrounded. It was not simple but the law enforcement officers managed to handcuff him. Now to take him to the station, then.
The citizens of the neighborhood had a different opinion. Those who had surrounded the criminal before arresting him, found themselves besieged by a very large number of people ("according to the version of the police", specifies Assabah). The latter had only one idea in mind: to free the dealer.
It was only there, according to the same source, that several shots were fired in the air by the police in order to dissuade them from undertaking anything.
