Moroccan Police Officer Critically Wounded in Knife Attack During Arrest Attempt

Last Wednesday, a week ago, in Salé, a policeman was seriously injured in the neck by a criminal with a criminal record, whom he was trying to apprehend. The latter wanted to slit his throat to avoid arrest.
A fight between two criminals almost went very wrong for a policeman, a member of a motorcycle patrol. They, on the spot, tried to arrest the two thugs to put an end to their brawl. But while the agents were able to seize one of the two, the other escaped through narrow alleys. And that’s where the drama happened.
This takes place in Salé, near the bus station, in the slum called "Sahb El Qaïd". The motorcyclist pursues the dangerous individual. The latter draws a knife and violently attacks him, trying, according to Assabah, to slit his throat. He manages to seriously injure him in the neck.
The perpetrator of this attempted murder then fled. The police were about to arrest him when his mother intervened. She asks them not to shoot him. She promises to hand him over to them herself if they refrain from harming him, still according to Assabah.
But in the end, she did not keep her promise; the very violent criminal vanished into thin air. A national arrest warrant has been issued against him.
