Moroccan-Born French Politician Mourns 5-Year-Old Rayan’s Tragic Well Death

The lost battle of Rayan, the five-year-old boy who fell to the bottom of a well over 32 meters deep, has moved the whole world. There is an outpouring of reactions before and since Saturday. This is the case of Rachida Dati who, in a tweet, paid tribute to the memory of the little Moroccan.
Rachida Dati, a French politician of Moroccan origin, also reacted to the death of little Rayan, who remained trapped in a well for five days in Ighren, near Chefchaouen. "Peace to the soul of Rayan, such a courageous little boy. What sadness! Tender thoughts and prayers for his parents. Immense respect and admiration for the Moroccan rescuers. Wholeheartedly with Morocco and the Moroccans," wrote the former Minister of Justice on her Twitter account.
All the skills were mobilized to rescue the little boy but the narrowness of the well and the fear of causing the soil to collapse prevented the rescuers from descending to save the young boy in time.
