Tragedy Strikes Again: 7-Year-Old with Down Syndrome Dies in Moroccan Well

While Morocco has not finished mourning the death of Rayan, another 7-year-old child, Khalid, died after drowning in a well. The tragedy occurred in Tiflet.
Unlike Rayan, the child who died in Tiflet was trisomy. He was playing near the 40-meter-deep well when he fell into it without anyone noticing. It was while looking for him that his parents realized he had fallen into this well.
Alerted, the local authorities and the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie rushed to the scene to retrieve the body of the young boy from the well. The Royal Gendarmerie immediately opened an investigation to determine the causes of this tragedy, which occurred on the day of Rayan’s funeral.
Since Rayan’s death, the authorities have decided to look into the proliferation of unsecured open wells, a real trap for children.
