Moroccan Authorities Seize 1.5 Tons of Cannabis Bound for Europe

Another drug case in Driouch. Indeed, the elements of the Auxiliary Forces proceeded to seize a large quantity of cannabis resin, in the province of Driouch, on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. This is a shipment that was about to be shipped to Europe.
In total, it is a ton and a half arranged in bales, discovered, following a routine check in the locality of Imzouren, near the beach of Beni Chiker, in Nador. According to Le360, the cannabis resin was arranged in 50 bales of different weights, on which various numbers and letters were written.
After transporting the cannabis resin cargo to the Driouch region, the traffickers headed towards a neighboring beach in order to send the cargo by inflatable boat to southern Spain or to other smugglers waiting for them in the deep Mediterranean, details the media.
However, it was without counting on the vigilance of the elements of the Auxiliary Forces and the thick fog that swept the region since the evening of Tuesday, August 13. These are as many unfavorable situations that explain the abandonment of the entire cargo by the smugglers. Still, it is the umpteenth time that Driouch has been noticed as the scene of drug trafficking and crime cases.
Already, a judicial investigation has been opened and initiated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to know the ins and outs of this case and to lead to the arrest of the various actors involved, specifies the same source.
