Moroccan Authorities Seize 290 kg of Cannabis, Arrest Suspected Drug Trafficker at Port

Elements of the National Security and Customs at the port of Nador proceeded on Saturday to the arrest of an individual involved in an attempt to traffic 290 kg of cannabis resin. He is also suspected of being part of an international drug and psychotropic trafficking criminal network.
The 40-year-old man was apprehended as he was about to leave the national territory on board a boat bound for a European country, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
A thorough search led to the discovery in his car of chira slabs of around 290 kg. The accused was taken into custody for the investigation to determine the local and international ramifications of this criminal activity.
