Drug Trafficking Ring Busted in Agadir: 7 Arrested in Major Cannabis Seizure

Seven people aged between 20 and 57 were arrested on Saturday by elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Agadir. They would be members of a criminal network active in international drug trafficking, the organization of illegal immigration and human trafficking.
The main suspect and two of his accomplices were arrested in Agadir in the Iligh area, based on a national wanted notice for international drug trafficking, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). A fourth suspect who was also the subject of a wanted notice was arrested in the Taghazout area, about 30 km north of Agadir. This was thanks to coordination on the ground with elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of the locality.
According to the same source, the search operations carried out in a home used by the suspects in Taghazout made it possible to arrest three candidates for illegal immigration. In the same house, the police seized more than 64 bales of cannabis resin estimated at two tons and which would be intended for international trafficking. An inflatable boat, fuel as well as navigation equipment and logistics were also seized in the house, the DGSN specifies.
Pending the conclusion of the investigation opened to determine the exact circumstances of this case, identify any accomplices involved in this criminal activity, the accused were placed in custody.
