Moroccan Authorities Close in on Tetouan Blackmail Ring Targeting Officials

The Moroccan authorities are about to put an end to the activities of a criminal network specializing in defamation and blackmail of several personalities in the North, particularly in Tetouan.
This criminal gang threatens and blackmails on Facebook and via their WhatsApp numbers, several officials from different institutions in the North, particularly in the city of Tetouan, according to Al Ahdath Al Maghribia citing well-informed sources.

According to the investigations carried out by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in connection with the forensic police service of the Wilaya of Police of Tetouan and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the network threatens its targets with publishing on social networks compromising information concerning them if they do not transfer a large sum of money to it.
The case will soon be resolved and the perpetrators, co-perpetrators and accomplices will be apprehended, assures the same source, who warns that unsuspected personalities could be involved in the case.
