Moroccan Airports See 14% Surge in July Passenger Traffic, Led by Casablanca Hub

In July 2019, Moroccan airports experienced commercial traffic estimated at 2,394,773 passengers. This volume recorded an increase of 14.24% compared to the same period in 2018, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).
According to this press release, Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca is in first place with more than 45.11% of the total passenger traffic, i.e. 1,080,399 who were welcomed in July 2019. This figure has seen, according to the same source, an increase of 9.72% compared to 2018.
The majority of Moroccan airports are in the green, like Marrakech-Ménara which progressed by 30.58% (490,630 passengers), Fès-Saïss with 11.53% (125,958 passengers), Tangier with 20.51% (139,084 passengers) and Rabat-Salé with +13.08% (99,496 passengers). As for the airports of Ouarzazate and Errachidia, they recorded respective jumps of 85.66%, for 11,171 passengers, and 65.10%, for 3,761 passengers.
Regarding domestic traffic, it experienced sustained growth of 32.55%. International traffic, on the other hand, increased by 12.21%, the same source said. The European market, for its part, remains at the forefront of the increases with a rise of +12.16%, representing around 76% of commercial traffic. As for the Middle and Far East market, which accounts for 8.27%, and the African market (7.15% share), they have achieved significant growth rates of +15.69% and +9.87% respectively.
