US Military Chief Visits Morocco to Bolster Defense Partnership

On a working visit to Morocco, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States of America, met on Sunday with the Delegate Minister to the Head of Government, in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudyi.
While welcoming the good health of their friendship and cooperation relations, the two personalities discussed the strategic military partnership between Morocco and the United States, the 2020-2030 roadmap for defense cooperation signed in October 2020 which aims to modernize the Moroccan army, train it so that it can effectively fight against regional threats.
According to the press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), this meeting allowed General Mark Milley and Abdellatif Loudyi to discuss the consolidation and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. They welcomed the positive results of the Defense Advisory Committee and highlighted the importance of the annual combined exercise "African Lion".
After his discussions with Minister Abdellatif Loudiyi, Army General Mark Milley was also received by Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, Belkhir El Farouk. The meeting took place in the presence of bureau chiefs, senior US military officials and the US Ambassador accredited to Rabat. After expressing their satisfaction with the positive results of the Defense Advisory Committee, they once again demonstrated their determination to consolidate this historic and exemplary partnership, the statement concludes.
