Morocco Hosts Israeli Air Force Chief, Deepening Military Ties

The commander of the Israeli Air Force, General Tomer Bar, has been on his first official visit to Morocco since Tuesday. During his stay, he will exchange with his Moroccan counterpart, General El Abd Bohamid and visit the bases of the Moroccan Air Force.
The Israeli delegation led by General Tomer Bar is composed of the head of the training department, a lieutenant colonel and other commanders, according to the official account of the Israeli army. This official visit by senior Israeli Air Force officials comes a little more than a month after the first annual steering committee meeting of the defense establishment between the two countries, which had decided on that occasion to deepen their defense relations.
Israel and Morocco "have agreed to further strengthen cooperation and extend it to other areas, including air defense and electronic warfare," the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces said. In September 2022, Lieutenant General Belkhir el-Farouk, Inspector General of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, was in Tel Aviv for an international military conference. This was the first time that the head of the army of an Arab country had made an official visit to Israel.
"Since the resumption of diplomatic relations and the signing of a defense cooperation agreement, the parties have deepened and expanded their military and defense ties as well as the defense industry. Cooperation should continue to develop in the future in the face of common challenges," the Israeli Ministry of Defense said.
