OM Midfielder Ounahi Reportedly Pressured to Sign with Qatari Club

Qatar, Azzedine Ounahi’s next destination? The OM midfielder is about to leave Marseille to sign, this Friday, with a Qatari club, learns Le360 from sources very close to the player, who sees behind this recruitment a maneuver by the former captain of the Atlas Lions Medhi Benatia, reconverted as a "venal agent" according to the site. He is said to have threatened to sideline him from the group, to ruin his career if he does not sign in Qatar.

"Benatia forced Ounahi’s hand, playing a toxic role in this file, going so far as to threaten to sideline him and prevent him from playing if he refused to play in Qatar," insists the player’s entourage. This is the same Benatia who had pushed Azzedine Ounahi to sign with Marseille when he had very attractive offers from Premier League clubs.
