La Méridionale cancels ferry crossings between Morocco and France

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics has been notified of this service interruption, which comes at a bad time during the holiday season, reports Hespress. Specifically, two rotations are being canceled:

• The departure from Marseille to Tanger Med, originally scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025.

• The return from Tanger Med to Marseille, scheduled for Saturday, December 27, 2025.

The shipping company does not expect to return to normal operations before Wednesday, December 31, when the ships should resume sailing from the Moroccan port.

Solutions for the 474 stranded passengers

In total, nearly 500 travelers (236 outbound, 238 return) are seeing their plans disrupted. To manage this crisis, the carrier has implemented a compensation plan offering three alternatives to affected customers:

• A free rebooking on a future crossing (subject to availability).

• A full refund for cancellation.

• A cancellation compensated by a 50 euro credit.

Communication seems to have been smooth despite the urgency: all affected passengers have been alerted. The processing of cases is progressing rapidly, with a resolution rate of 90% for the Thursday trip and 70% for the Saturday trip.
