This project is preparing the ground for the 2030 football World Cup, a competition during which the region plans to host several national teams. Abdelouahed El Ansari, president of the Regional Council, sees it as an "important added value" to boost local attractiveness.

The financial structure of this site mobilizes multiple public actors. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) injects half the budget, or 300 million dirhams, and will oversee the overall management of the work with the National Public Equipment Agency. The Ministry of Sports completes the envelope with 150 million, supported by the region, the prefecture and surrounding municipalities to gather all the necessary funds for its completion.

Beyond the sports arena, the administration took advantage of this extraordinary session to finalize eight other development agreements. Among these investments are the creation of a 1,000-bed penitentiary center in Sefrou for 120 million dirhams, the expansion of logistics and craft infrastructure, as well as the improvement of rural road networks. Part of the budget will also be used to expand the air quality monitoring network from nine to fifteen stations by the end of the decade.
