McDonald’s France Serves Up Global Flavors: From Moroccan Drinks to Japanese Cherry Blossom Fizz

In France, the American fast food multinational McDonald’s is offering a Moroccan drink for the second edition of its "Taste the World" operation.
And two for McDonald’s. After the success of the first edition last summer during the Olympic Games of its "Taste the World" operation, the fast food chain is organizing the second edition, as reported by Le Figaro. It offers specialties unknown in France but very popular in its subsidiaries in other countries. This operation begins this Tuesday, July 1st. On the food side, the Shrimp Filet, with its fried shrimp patty and its sweet and sour sauce, straight from the menu of McDo Korea, the Teriyaki Chicken, a variant of the famous McChicken (Japan) with a special sauce, and the American Steakhouse Burger, with two beef patties and a blend of sauces, are offered.
Nugget lovers will be able to savor a Sweet and Spicy Jam sauce, sweet and spicy, from the United States. As a side dish, McDonald’s offers its customers "Quebec fries" in the style of poutine, with meat juice sauce and cheese. On the sweet side, they will be able to enjoy the Sakura McFizz, a Sprite with cherry blossom syrup, a Japanese drink, of course. The fast food chain also offers them Hawaï, a drink with a taste close to Oasis tropical (but very, very sweet), which is a hit in Morocco. For dessert, customers will be entitled to the McFlurry Mango Bobba from China: ice cream with mango coulis and bubble tea balls.
McDonald’s will make these products available in its 1,600 restaurants until August 25th. "Prices are set freely by franchisees," reminds McDonald’s France. However, the fast food chain places these dishes in the "mid-range" category. "We wanted atypical recipes that surprise and get people talking," explains Jean-Guillaume Bertola, Marketing Director of McDonald’s France.
