Massive Protest in Morocco: Thousands March for Gaza, Against Israel Ties

Thousands of people gathered in Rabat for a major demonstration in support of Palestine, marking one of the largest mobilizations of its kind since the beginning of the war in Gaza.
This demonstration was organized at the call of several organizations, including left-wing formations or Islamists from Al Adl Wal Ihhsane (Justice and Charity). The participants, many of whom displayed Palestinian symbols, expressed their rejection of the diplomatic and economic ties between Morocco and Israel.
"Resistance until victory", "Stop the normalization of the Moroccan government with Israel" and "Free Palestine" could be read among the slogans on the banners waved by the protesters, who also called for an end to normalization with Israel and the boycott of certain brands accused of supporting the military operation in Gaza.
Morocco and Israel have drawn closer in recent years following the United States’ recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara. In addition to political and economic cooperation, the two countries have also signed several military agreements.
