Moroccan Islamist Party Condemns Israel Ties, Warns of Cultural ’Penetration’

Nearly a year later, the normalization of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel continues to provoke reactions. A Moroccan political party takes a critical look at this historic rapprochement.
"Normalization is a crime against Morocco, because the country’s leaders are widely opening the door to cultural, political, educational and security penetration," said Fathallah Arsalane, spokesman for Al Adl Wal Ihssane (AWI) in an interview with Arabi21. According to him, the crime is compounded when it goes beyond commercial and economic relations to identity and values, and targets young students, intensifies university agreements, etc.
The leader of the Islamist movement notes that the damage of the Morocco-Israel rapprochement goes beyond words, as it translates into "tangible facts on the ground." As an illustration, he talks about the crisis with Algeria and the saturation of the Moroccan market with dates. Observations that lead Fathallah Arsalane to affirm that this normalization will never bring stability or economic benefits.
