Massive Drug Bust: 4 Tons of Hashish Hidden in Oranges Seized at Moroccan Port

The national police and customs agents operating in the port of Tanger Med intercepted a truck that was transporting 4.374 tons of hashish, hidden in oranges, destined for a European port. The drugs were seized and the truck driver was arrested.

The drugs were discovered during a control operation carried out jointly by the national police and customs services. The agents found more than 4 tons of hashish carefully hidden in a Moroccan-registered truck, transporting oranges to a European port. The cargo was seized.

The truck driver, a 51-year-old Moroccan, was arrested and made available for the judicial investigation led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to determine the ins and outs of this case. This operation is part of the sustained efforts deployed by the security services at border crossing points to fight against international drug trafficking networks.
