Tanger Med: Hashish seized hidden in fish crates destined for Algeciras
Moroccan authorities intercepted a cargo of hashish hidden in fish crates loaded onto a truck destined for the port of Algeciras at the port of Tanger Med.
The drugs were found during a check at the port of Tanger Med. The truck, scanned, revealed the presence of a suspicious object, which led to a thorough search and the discovery of the cargo that was carefully hidden in fish crates.
The customs and security teams are in the process of extracting and weighing the drugs in order to determine the quantity. An investigation has been opened to determine the origin of this cargo and its final destination, as well as the people involved in this trafficking.
A few months ago, more than 4 tons of hashish had been found in oranges stacked in a truck. The driver of the vehicle was arrested. Last September, 160 kilos of hashish were found in a motorhome arriving in Algeciras from the port of Tanger-Med.
