Massive Drug Bust: 7 Tons of Cannabis Seized in Kenitra, Morocco
Some 7 tons of cannabis resin were seized on Thursday by the police services of the city of Kenitra. This new police intervention comes just hours after the seizure of 2 tons of drugs in the same city.
According to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), a joint team from the prefectural judicial police service of Kenitra and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), during intense investigations, seized 6.9 tons of drugs a few kilometers from Kenitra, inside two metal crates hidden in a container production workshop. The owner of the workshop was taken into custody.
This new seizure brings the total amount of chira discovered during the various operations opened as part of the investigation after the thwarting on the same day of an attempt to internationally traffic 2 tons and 10 kg of chira, to 8 tons and 912 kilograms.
The investigations continue under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to dismantle all the links in the network, concludes a police statement.
