Massive Drug Bust in Morocco: 13 Tons of Cannabis Seized, Two Arrested in Fez

The Judicial Police of Fez seized, on Tuesday, November 6, 2019, 13.2 tons of cannabis resin and arrested two individuals in connection with a criminal network active in the international drug and psychotropic trafficking, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The security operation carried out under the supervision of the Judicial Police made it possible to arrest the two suspects on a farm in Ras El-Ma in Fez.
The same press release reports that the search made it possible to confiscate this large quantity of cannabis resin, carefully packaged in large marble slabs, thanks to the electronic tools often used to drill stone and marble.
Equipment used in drug trafficking, including a vehicle, a trailer, a motorcycle, an electrical transformer and a hunting rifle, are also part of the loot seized by the elements of the Judicial Police, the same source said.
Arrested, the two defendants were immediately taken into custody for the judicial investigation in order to determine the ins and outs of this case, identify any ramifications of this criminal network at the national and international levels and arrest all persons involved in this criminal trafficking, the press release also informed.
