Moroccan Authorities Seize 1.6 Tons of Cannabis in Meknes, Two Arrested

Two individuals were arrested in Meknes on Tuesday due to their links with a criminal network operating in the trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), this operation was carried out in a food warehouse, located in the suburbs of Meknes, in collaboration with elements of the Royal Gendarmerie and the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The searches carried out also made it possible to confiscate one ton and 625 kg of cannabis, a utility vehicle, as well as a sum of money in national currency which would be the fruit of drug and psychotropic trafficking operations, the DGSN specifies.
As for the suspects aged 42 and 36, they were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation in order to apprehend the other suspects involved in this criminal network and to determine its possible national or international ramifications.
